this will be pretty short.

a little more than a year ago, my daughter told us that she wanted to try out for the softball team.

she is a hard worker, this kid. and when she sets her mind to it, she gets it done. she wants to try so many different things.

she is also kind of a clutz. she can fall over turning off a light.

she didn't make the team. we told her that stuff like this happens sometimes, but she should practice the skills she was lacking, and try out next time. she was a little dissapointed, but really spent all last summer practicing with her friends and this year made the team and she is doing great. her team hasn't lost one yet this season

you automatically feel bad when your children feel bad. it never once crossed my mind to hire a lawyer and get her on that team. she is better off for having to work harder than some of the other kids to get what she wanted. she learned a great lesson, and i am very proud of her.

how can you be proud of having to sue to get your daughter on a team? i can't figure some people out.

It is a shame that more children aren't being raised this way. Congrats to your daughter for making the team and making a difference...and for having a wise dad.

You are a good parent. A good parent wants and tries to make sure their children suceed. But they do not cheat the system, and when it happens, they allow them to fail. it is life, and it is how we must live it. Your daughter will be better off knowing that she cannot have all her wants when she wants them. And sometimes, she will have to try again. But the next time, she will be better prepared.
